Depatterning

Depatterning (also “psychic driving”) was the technique developed by Dr. Donald Ewen Cameron at McGill University’s Allan Memorial Institute (1957–1964), funded covertly through MKUltra. It combined massive doses of LSD, electroconvulsive therapy at 30–40 times normal intensity, weeks of drug-induced sleep, and continuous looped audio messages (psychic driving) to completely erase patients’ existing personalities and “rebuild” them from scratch. In practice, it produced catastrophic, irreversible brain damage — the most extreme instance of Inverted_Initiation documented in the archive.

Depatterning is the Nigredo weaponized: forced dissolution of the psyche with no intention of facilitating Albedo or Rubedo. The goal was not transformation but tabula rasa — the annihilation of identity.
