Ghagiel
Ghagiel (“The Hinderers”) is the second sphere of the Qlippoth, corresponding to and inverting the holy Sefirah, Chokhmah.
While Chokhmah is the boundless, dynamic spark of divine wisdom and fresh creation flowing freely into existence, Ghagiel operates as the active interrupter of that flow. It represents confusion, obstruction, and absolute stagnation. The “Hinderers” throw illusions and senseless static into the mind to ensure that the pure creative spark never takes hold.
Archetypal and Psychological Expression
- The Stifled Spark: Psychologically, Ghagiel represents the paralyzing over-complication or the cynical, noisy internal voice that constantly aborts creative action before it can even begin.
- The Anti-Father: If Chokhmah is the inseminating Father_Archetype of the Supernal Triad, Ghagiel is the castrating force—the impotent patriarch who jealously prevents any new life or new ideas from manifesting.
- The Illusion of Complexity: Ghagiel often manifests as endless, pointless theorizing that distracts the magician or the individual from making any actual progress or achieving Gnosis.
