Rockefeller Commission

The Rockefeller Commission (formally the United States President’s Commission on CIA Activities within the United States, 1975) was established by President Gerald Ford to investigate domestic CIA abuses. Chaired by Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, it revealed the CIA’s illegal mail-opening program, domestic surveillance, and aspects of MKUltra. Its findings complemented those of the Church Committee.
